"Surrey Beer Conquers Cornwall"

Hop Garden Gold 4.6% abv has won the title of Supreme Champion Beer at the Campaign For Real Ale Falmouth Beer Festival.

Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham earned the prize by beating 160 beers including 50 local beers from Cornwall to bring back the crown to Surrey.

Phil Roberts of the Cornwall Branch of CAMRA said "This years top spot went to a foreigner - Hop Garden Gold from the Hogs Back Brewery in Surrey. Golden, hoppy and flavoursome beers are in vogue at the moment and Hop Garden Gold admirably ticks all the boxes."

Tony Stanton, Director at the Hogs Back Brewery responded "Its strange being called a foreigner by the Cornish but its a sheer delight to bring the cherished trophy to Surrey. Its like winning the Ashes from the Aussies".

This award adds to the many such accolades won by the Hogs Back Brewery since it was launched in 1992. It now produces more than 57,000 pints of beer a week and supplies in excess of 1,000 outlets.

Brewery Tours

The Hogs Back Brewery is located in 16th century farm buildings located in the village of Tongham, Surrey, - between Farnham and Guildford just off the A31 'Hogs Back' road. We are open to the public for Brewery Tours on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings as well as Saturday and Sunday. Typically our midweek Tours start at 6:30pm but we can be flexible to suit individual tour group requirements. Our Saturday Tours usually start at 11:00am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm and Sundays at 2:30pm but again we may well be able to agree alternative times if required. We are also pleased to conduct school and college tours aimed at enhancing various curriculum subjects such as Chemistry and Business Studies. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Due to the popularity of our tours they must be booked in advance. Our tours have a great reputation for being both informative and entertaining, so book now for a great time.

The cost is £8.00 per person and should be paid for at the time of booking. This includes generous sampling throughout the tour and a souvenir glass to keep. Each Tour will typically last approx 1 3/4 hours.
