Farnham-based Hogs Back Brewery is rallying support for the Great British pub during January by encouraging people to go ‘TEA Total’ rather than teetotal, and enjoy a sociable pint or two of its flagship TEA (Traditional English Ale) in their local.
Pubs selling TEA will be displaying posters and pump clips promoting the ‘Support Your Local – Go TEA Total’ message, and giving away badges with the same slogan to customers at the bar. Competitions will be running on Hogs Back Brewery’s social media channels throughout January, offering a £20 gift voucher to spend in any Red Mist Leisure pub to drinkers who share their photos of going TEA Total, or recommend a pub serving a great pint of TEA. See a full list of Red Mist pubs here.
Hogs Back Brewery managing director Rupert Thompson said, “Pubs play a vital role at the heart of our communities, but trade suffers during January, particularly as more and more people take part in ‘Dry January’.
“The TEA Total campaign is about encouraging people to keep going to the pub during January and enjoying a locally-brewed beer in moderation. This can be a difficult time of year for many people and a pint shared with a friend in the pub is one of the best ways of countering social isolation, and contributing to our overall well-being.”
Competitions will change weekly, so check Hogs Back Brewery’s Twitter and Facebook @HogsBackBrewery to be in with a chance of winning a prize. And visit any of the Red Mist pubs below to pick up a ‘TEA Total’ badge – and enjoy a pint of TEA.
For the first week of the competition we’d like people to share with us their picture of them enjoying a pint of TEA in their favourite local. Make sure we can see it by tagging @HogsBackBrewery and use #TEATOTAL to help us spread the campaign further. Send us your photos by Monday 14th January and keep your eyes peeled for next week’s competition.
