Brewery Shop and Online Store Manager

Hogs Back Brewery is a thriving family run business with a loyal customer base and a great reputation in the local area, and more widely. 

The Brewery Shop is a key revenue channel for the business and during Covid we added a drive through, home delivery and a new website and e commerce system and grew sales to £1.5m. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact and take the business to the next level – we see the chance to further extend our direct home delivery, create a unique online offering and to grow our currently small guest craft cans and wine sales.

This is a diverse and busy customer facing and e-commerce role, in a team-based environment. The ideal candidate will have experience of retail management, accompanied by strong sales and digital marketing acumen and a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the beer market.

We will also be looking for strong interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, organisational and leadership skills, combined with the ambition to really make a difference.

You will have full operational and profit responsibility for all the Brewery Shop and online retail operations, including staff management and training, quality control, merchandising and planning.

Ideally living within 15-20 minutes of the brewery to be able to call in if there is an emergency, you will normally work 42 ½ hours over 5 days including a Saturday or Sunday in rotation. You will develop two senior shop assistants to be able to delegate some of your responsibilities and will have a rotating team of 6-8 other part time staff.

Salary will be £25-32k dependent on level of experience. A bonus scheme will be set against overachievement of budget. Contributory pension scheme. 25 days holiday a year.
